Medical Billing Intern

Employment Type Part-Time
opticXpress is Medical Billing Consultant dedicated solely to the practice of optometry. We specialize in custom software and clearinghouse services as well.
Candidate MUST posses excellent command of the written word as well as ATTENTION TO DETAIL! A clear value of daily responsibility and time management is also an absolute must.
Candidate will learn all aspects of billing throughout the internship provided they spend at least 15 months in the program. This is a paid internship/entry level position. No prior knowledge of medical billing/coding required.
Daily Tasks Include:
*Posting insurance payments
*Reconciling outstanding receivables
*Making the decision to bill or not bill patients
*Proper billing of insurance companies
*Downloading and interpreting billing reports and making proper adjustments where necessary
*Phone communication with clients
All majors/degrees welcome, those geared toward computer sciences, accounting or health studies (such as medical coding) greatly appreciated.
Prior experience with Microsoft Office required.
